{Design} Ribbed pendant sconce by Pigeon Toe Ceramics

I love this wall-mounted pendant sconce by Pigeon Toe Ceramics. It is a made to order ceramic sconce suspended by a yellow cloth cord through a steel bracket.
Only held in place by tension, it is infinitely adjustable. So perfect to place on the side of your bed and never get that glare in the corner of your eye. The unglazed porcelain shade is ultra-thin for translucency and has lines for texture, with an interior clear glaze.
I particularly like the yellow cord against the black. Recurrent theme it seems...

{Fashion} Red skirt and stripes

I have been so busy since coming back from Easter break that I have neglected my blog. As I am putting the kids to bed I found a moment to go through some old feeds, and this one by Atlantic Pacific in particular put a smile on my face. Atlantic Pacific blogs about fashion, and I find the playfulness of her outfits and posts fresh.
I love this outfit in particular: gorgeous red skirt and stripes!
I know my last post was also about stripes, but I wanted to share this with you anyway!

Stripy spring

Spring seems to have finally arrived! So it is time for my trusted stripy espadrilles to make an appearance... Best shoes ever!
They are so comfortable and like all good things, get better with age.
Do you have a pair of sandals or shoes that you can't seem to get rid of?

You can see more of my photos and follow me on my Instagram thread.

{Art} Hutt Lagoon series by Steve Back

I love these abstract aerial photographs of Hutt Lagoon in Western Australia, by photographer Steven Back. Isn't it amazing that these colours occur naturally because of an algae. In these manmade lagoons, the algae have been concentrated to be farmed for food colouring. Thanks to colour bloc for sharing.

{Interiors} Gorgeous Z1 Black cotton lamp by Ay Illuminate

What a fabulous lamp! I first saw it at my friend Anna's house, and I have since seen it popping up here and there on the blogosphere.
I just love the Z1 Black cotton lamp by Ay Illuminate, it is in all natural bamboo and handwoven cotton from Ethiopia.
Although it is huge and not so suited for low ceilings, I think I found the perfect chistmas present for my in-laws new home in the South of France...

{kids} playing with cars

My 21 month old baby boy is obsessed with anything with wheels at the moment... Since we are spending time away from home in Morocco, we don't have many toys for him to play with. I took 2 toy cars with me, and the stripy berber blanket in the lush Marrakech garden seemed to do the trick to keep him busy. So I unleashed the camera and started snapping. Here are a few pictures.

{Craft} Made by Joel | Paris Paper city

A couple of months ago, my daughter had an assignment for school and chose to do her presentation on her trip to Paris. So we headed over to a great blog called Made by Joel, where Joel shares gorgeous paper crafts for kids. We printed out the Paris Paper City and after she was done customising, it looked perfect to for her presentation. Later, the paper toys got a lot of use out of them, and I think the Eiffel tower still gets some attention once in a while.

{Travel} Tips for parents travelling with kids in Japan

Today I have a special post to share!

My lovely friend Donatella, her husband Ben and 2 kids Alvar (6) and Austine (2) are taking a 47,090 km Big Adventure around the world.

I have not been very good at keeping up to date with where they were at over the past few weeks, but today I found some time to catch up and read about all the wonderful places they have been to... What an amazing experience! Reading the family blog is like being part of their experience and seeing the world through their eyes. Thank you so much guys for sharing!

This particular post I am writing about is one where Dona shares great Tips for parents travelling with young children in Japan. Check it out, it is well worth reading if you plan on travelling to Japan with your little ones.

I can't wait to read more about the great adventure and also hear about it all when we catch up next! I hope you enjoy reading about it too.

{Design} Folding chair by Christian Desile

The 'Desile' folding chair by French designer Christian Desile is so simple and elegant in its design. It is a simple two-way opening system. The chair folds completely flat into 20mm thick plate and lends itself to a functional stacking system. The chair when closed can also be hung on a wall providing a graphic interest and valuable space saving.
It is possible to cut it from a single piece of solid wood. The designer, Christian Desile, chose to use bamboo, metal and recycled PET as its' main materials, so that the finish product is sustainable.
